Technology is important to some people

For example, can you imagine not having a TV anymore? Permanently? I know many people who depend on television. But to tell you the truth, I love TV too, and I have my favorite technology. As a matter of fact, even when I don\’t watch TV directly, I still have the TV on. Most of the time, when I am home alone, when the kids are at school, when my partner is at work, and I don\’t want to be so quiet at home, I can turn on the TV and read a book, listen to a song, or do something on the computer, but the TV simply has to I just have to have the TV on.

Doma máme dvě televize.

just to keep the house quiet and hear something. But sometimes there are shows that you just can\’t miss on a weeknight. I consider it a second world, a second life. Soap operas are my reason for living, too. I can\’t imagine what it would be like if there were no more TV, or if I could no longer watch TV.

Televize je pro mě důležitá.

Or if TV became really expensive and I couldn\’t afford it. I\’d be really shocked and wouldn\’t know what to do. I probably would have to get someone somewhere to buy episodes of my show and watch different episodes, because I wouldn\’t be able to stand it otherwise. My grandmother also watched soap operas regularly, so I am very familiar with them. I remember when my grandmother and I were still watching “Esmeralda” on TV. That was my first soap opera, and then there was “Ugly Betty”. Can you imagine if we really didn\’t have television? I really don\’t know what I would do. I would be very worried. I would probably go crazy.
